In....just under the wire

I finished this at about 20 to 12..but since it's not midnight yet it's technically a February finished object. Annnnnnd, it means that I get to start the beaded shawl tomorrow. I'm very excited for this!

Here's my hubby, graciously modeling his new hat at 11:45 pm on a Friday night...we're party animals you know. hehehe

I asked him to do something cute and funny for the picture...and this is what he gave me. I don't know about his theatrical skills, but he sure is cute. (albeit scruffy today...but I like that ha!)
He says he loves the hat. This makes me very happy.

The yarn turned out great for this project. I have never knit a hat out of cotton before, well stratch that. I have knit a baby hat out of cotton but not an adult hat. I agree with your hubby, awesome hat. Now onto the beaded shawl, after you get some rest that is.

Nice job on the hat! Your hubby looks very happy to have it for himself! Nothing better in the world than a handmade gift!

You know what I don't like about blogger is that I just can't RE your comments! I am online all the time during the day so I check my bloglines constantly. Actually I just started using bloglines because I have a million blogs I read and with switching computers I didn't want to miss one. I think I like visiting the blogs better because of the visual layouts and such. But this is working fine for now. I finished the Harn Yarlot casts away. It was pretty good. I listened while working yesterday so I probably didn't comprehend every word but I liked it on tape! I need a new book! I picked up Doodle Stitching yesterday but craft books don't count! What did you decided for your friends going away gift? Maybe you should sew up a bag or something.

Socks::I am still enjoying the socks. I turned the heel yesterday and am working on the foot of sock #1. I think this yarn is making the difference. It is beautiful and I had no idea it would stripe like this on this pattern. I love it. It may be my new guilty pleasure. Who needs a new car!? The pattern is pretty cool too.

Words::I used the phrase "pissing me off" twice yesterday and was reproached by both my children. Suck isn't a bad word for us. I wish our language reflected that of Jane Austen but it doesn't. We don't curse but I have been battling the word "freakin'" for 2 years now. Not out of my mouth but out of Joy #2 mostly. That would be speech # 89. I will spare you but it basically states that "freakin" is just a wimpy way of saying the real thing and it not becoming of anyone! Blah, Blah, Blah Just Don't Say It!! Blah, Blah, Blah. Someday I will have mastered the first few chapters in James! :)
